I received a free product test from the Chick Advisor Review Panel to try and review Nestle BOOST Just Protein unflavoured Instant Whey Protein.
I love trying out new products, so naturally I was very happy to be selected for this product test and review. I’ve tried other whey protein powders in the past; but they were all flavoured varieties, which I found to be chalky and unpleasant. I have to enjoy the foods and beverages that I consume or I’ll move on. I want to eat healthy but I won’t do that at the sacrifice of good tasting food and drinks.
My package arrived and I shared my unboxing of my free product test on Instagram. I love how the team at Chick Advisor always adds some pretty coloured tissue in our product test parcels. Now it’s off to the testing lab (okay not really, it’s just my kitchen….but it sounded cool)!
One of the quickest and simplest ways to try Nestle BOOST Just Protein is in smoothies and milkshakes. So that’s exactly where I put this product to the test first! I created a protein packed strawberry banana smoothie for two using just 4 ingredients.
- 1/2 cup of milk (Or an alternate to milk such as almond, cashew or soy…you decide)
- 2 frozen bananas (a great substitute for using ice which will water down your smoothies)
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries, cleaned and hulled
- 3 scoops (21 g) of Nestle BOOST Just Protein
The process to make my protein smoothies was easy peasy, just 5 steps and then it was test time.
- First add the milk to the blender
- Then scoop in the BOOST Just Protein powder
- Turn on the blender and blend until the powder is dissolved
- Turn off the blender and add the frozen banana first and the strawberries on top
- Blend until smooth and enjoy!
I also tested this whey protein in soups, sauces, cookies and brownies. Here’s what I have to say about it:
I was worried that the taste and texture of the foods I added Nestle BOOST Just Protein would be compromised, but I am excited to report that there is no funky taste and the texture is unaffected.
I’m going to admit that I am a snacker! Yes I said it, I like to grab small snacks throughout the day. Unfortunately I don’t always choose the healthiest of snacks because I’m looking for a quick fix. Making the BOOST Just Protein smoothie only took a few minutes to make, but the results with satiety were far better than my usual snack choices (which usually have me snacking in no time at all).
One glass of strawberry banana protein smoothie satisfied my hunger and left me feeling full for over four hours.
Protein brownies are perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth craving and they are filling, so one piece is enough. I bake mine from scratch using a trusted recipe that I’ve been using for years. If you don’t bake from scratch, you can always add Nestle BOOST Just Protein to a cake, brownie, muffin or cookie pre-mix that you buy from the store.
By adding 3 scoops of BOOST Just Protein to pasta sauces, you can eliminate the meat and still get the protein you need. A great idea for meatless Monday or on any day that you choose to eat less meat or no meat at all.
After consuming foods with Nestle BOOST Just Protein I noticed that I had increased energy and I felt more mentally refreshed too.
To sum it up, I enjoyed trying the Nestle BOOST Just Protein through this product test. I will buy Nestle BOOST Just Protein when I finish this canister. It’s an easy, affordable and healthy way to boost protein in my diet.
