The Little Chef cooking competition is back for the third year, and this time it’s a family edition contest! Get the whole family involved in cooking with Little Chef Creamer potatoes. The grand prize is a family trip to Tuscany, Italy, valued at $15,000.
To enter the Little Chef family edition competition you will need:
- a family photo
- to write a 250 word essay on why you like to cook together as a family
The top 10 families selected will create their own family cooking video and be featured on Marilyn.ca. Canadians will be given the opportunity to vote from November 13-26, 2017 for their favourite Little Chef Family. These 10 families will win the semi-finalist prizes.
Semi-Finalist Prizes: There are 10 semi-finalist prizes. Each Semi-Finalist Prize consists of: one casserole dish, one kid and family friendly cook book, Little Potato Company Swag including but not limited to a chef’s hat, an apron, notepads, pens, pencils and 25 VIP coupons, each of which can be redeemed for one (1) Little Potato Company 1.5 lb bag of product or –one (1) Fresh Creamer potato Microwave Ready, or one (1) Oven|BBQ Ready product (approximate retail value of each coupon is $4.99 CAD). Approximate total retail value of each Semi-Finalist Prize is $225.00 CAD.
The final 2 families will appear on The Marilyn Denis Show for a cook-off; and be mentored by MasterChef Canada’s Michael Bonacini. These 2 families will receive the finalist prizes.
Finalist Prizes: There are two (2) finalist prizes. Each Finalist Prize consists of a trip for the winning Family to Toronto, Ontario to attend the Cook Off. Each Finalist Prize includes: round-trip economy air transportation to the Finalist Prize Destination City from the major departure terminal closest to the confirmed winning Family’s residence in Canada; and 2 nights accommodation at a hotel (based on occupancy determined) selected by the Competition Sponsors in their sole and absolute discretion. Each Finalist Prize has a total maximum approximate retail prize value of $8,000 CAD based on a Vancouver hypothetical departure example.
The family that wins the cook-off will win the grand prize family trip to Tuscany, Italy, worth up to $15,000!
The Grand Prize: There is 1 grand prize consisting of: A trip for the winning Family to Tuscany, Italy and including: round trip economy air fare for the Family from a major Canadian airport closest to the Grand Prize winning family’s place of residence in Canada to Italy; 7 nights’ accommodation (based on one (1) room, quadruple occupancy); and a culinary experience for the Trip travellers. The maximum approximate retail value of the Trip is Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000 CAD) based on a hypothetical Vancouver departure example.
The Runner Up Prize: There is 1 runner up prize. The Runner Up Prize consists of a $2,500 CAD awarded to the Runner Up Prize Winner in the form of a travel voucher which must be used on travel that is to be completed by December 15, 2018 (otherwise the Trip may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Competition Sponsors, be forfeited in its entirety and, if forfeited, nothing will be substituted in its place). Blackout periods may apply. Any and all terms and conditions of the travel voucher shall apply to the Runner Up Prize.
Voting Prizes: There are 2 voting prizes. Each Voting Prize consists of a Little Chef Package, which includes: oven mitts and dishtowels; an Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar set; a Little Chef Apron and Hat; and 25 VIP coupons, each of which can be redeemed for one (1) Little Potato Company 1.5 lb bag of product or –one (1) Fresh Creamer potato Microwave Ready, or one (1) Oven|BBQ Ready product (approximate retail value of each coupon is $4.99 CAD). Approximate retail value each Voting Prize is $100.00 CAD.
- Open to legal Canadian resident families of up to a maximum of four people (see rules for restrictions)
- A “family” must be comprised of a minimum of 1 and maximum of 2 adult parent or legal guardians and a minimum of 1 and maximum of 2 or 3 (depending on the number of adults in the “family”) of their children aged between 6 and 17
- Limit of 1 submission per family
- Open to legal residents of Canada
- Must be age of majority
- Limit of 1 Vote per Registered Voter per Day
Submissions will be accepted until October 22, 2017. Voting takes place November 13 – 26, 2017. The final cook-off takes place the week of December 18, 2017. The contest closes on December 22, 2017.
